Free Tibet!

Today, my son came to visit me and my family.  I few to Maine to escort him to Florida.  My Dad and Sister & Brother in law came to the airport to pick us up.  It was good to be home.  I left to pick-up Brody at 4 am this morning.  And returned home at about 6:30pm.

Dad was thrilled to see his grandson.   And we all went out to P.F. Changs to celebrate Brody’s presence.  It also seemed proper to eat at a Chinese restaurant as it was the opening day of the Beijing Olympics!  We watched the opening ceremony from the bar.  Dad had a lemon Spritzer, we just waited there while they got our table ready.  The Olympics’ opening ceremony did not disappoint.  It was full of wonderful celebrations, which included ancient drumming and fireworks and much symbolism.  I believe a lot of people were really looking forward to the Olympics because the Chinese take such great pride in their country.  And this indeed is the right time to show us their wonders!!

However, my heart does go out to Tibet as they mourn the loss of their human rights and quest for democracy in their struggle against China.

What I hope and pray is that China would realize how important it is to allow others to celebrate freedom.  And that in doing this, they would allow themselves the same freedom.

As it is, when we love and respect ourselves, we in turn can allow others that same right and privilege.  One of the most important lessons a human can learn.

Please join me in praying for China and Tibet.
