005And here is a picture of The Helicon Brass, who played in the private auditorium at the home of Benoit Glazer of Montreal.  As you can see it is the perfect size to view small chamber or brass groups.  The Glazers have many different, provocative musicians playing in their home through out the year.  To learn more you can visit www.timucua.com.  I went with a friend and throughly enjoyed the venue.  It was a rare opportunity to get out with out my Dad at my side.  As much as I love him, I do need time away from time to time.  The Helicon Brass group featured Pamela Titus- Horn, Joseph Vascik-Trombone and Sam Zambito-Trumpets and Flugelhorn.  Their music included works of art from Francis Poulenc to Eric Ewazen.

The concert ended with a Graduate Conducting Recital for Kevin Strang directing the UCF Opportunity Winds.  The UCF Opportunity Winds Personnel featured a small wind ensemble with approximately 26 players.  Kevin did a great job preparing the ensemble for the performance and directing them as well.    Kevin graces a local community band with his playing, where I also play clarinet.  And that’s how I know Kevin.  Kevin Strang recently performed with the Brevard Community Band playing a familiar Weber clarinet concerto.  Which he did an excellent job in doing so.
