October 31st, Time to play dress-up!

Well, well, well, it’s that time of the year again.  Time to dress up the cat.  No, she is not liking it at all.  I took the costume off nearly as soon as a put it on. 

Today being Halloween, we all prepared for the main event tonight.  My sister C made cupcakes that were made with splenda(R)  and had a bat design on the top.  There were really good to eat.  I painted my nails black.  My sister and her hubby decorated the yard with Halloween decorations.  The trick O treaters started swinging by the house about 7 o’clock.  Every time the doorbell rang we all ran to see what costumes the children were wearing.  We had chocolate martinis for before dinner cocktails.  Decorated ourselves with fake tattoos and we swung by the VFW to eat, there were seven of us.  We enjoyed a good meal and afterwards headed over to the Beach Shack right off the beach.  On the way there we stopped at the cigar shop and picked up a number of sweet cigarettes and cigars.  We smoked them on the deck by the beach.  It was a nice way to relax.  Here’s a trick o treater who’s picture I got.  Take a good look and see if you can figure out what he is dressed up as?  Everyone was dressed up in a costume except our group.  There were mermaids, Seal killers, Princesses, etc.  You name it, we saw it.  The night ended well and we headed home.  Dad hung in there like a trouper.  He was freezing as the temperature was 68 degrees.  He had a winter coat on all night. 

And so we arrived home and most of us went straight to bed.

Is it time for O Hallow Eve already??

Dad holding Cleo while she tries on her new Halloween Costume.  Cleo doesn’t like wearing the costume.  No worries, we don’t want to humiliate her, if she doesn’t like it, she won’t have to wear it.  I had to try a costume on her to see how she’d react. 

Dad asks everyday, who’s cat is that?  And I reply, it’s my cat.  And then Dad picks up the cat and says Hey pup, how ya doing?  My cat loves my Dad and so she lets him hold her and pet her. 

We have a costume for Caitlyn (Dad’s Dog) as well.  (No pictures just yet)  Caitlyn loves the idea of dressing up.  My mom used to dress her up all the time when she was a puppy. 

I sent Brody a care package for Halloween or Autumn, which ever your prefer.  I love Autumn, it’s such a beautiful time of year.  Brody’s care package had the following, a new music album (George Strait), the gremlin movie DVD, a new photo album to fill up with photo’s from his latest Digital Photography class, some candy (Sour Candy, Nerds rope, Taffy), a new toothbrush (reminder to brush) some Halloween buttons and stickers and a magnetic games that helps him describe his mood for the moment – with a Halloween theme.  And of course a little pocket change. 

I always love sending Brody a care box.  My mom used to send me a care box when I was in college and I always enjoyed what Mom sent.  I think Brody feels the same way.  Next time I should make some special cookies and send them to him.  I think that would be a really special thing to do. 

Picture to Left is of another visiting dog.  His name is Dozer and he is an English Bull dog.  He’s quiet the gentleman and has a nice personality.  Some one in the family is a pet sitter and takes in animals to board on occasion.
